KeyVault label printer improves organization, makes identifying keytags easier

From time to time at dealerships, it is necessary for individuals to have multiple sets of keys out. Whether it is a porter moving cars around on the lot, or a sales representative performing demos of multiple vehicles for a customer, not knowing which key operates which vehicle can hamper efficiency and create confusion. Many dealers used handwritten stickers to label their keytags, however these "DIY" labels can be hard to read and the adhesive can ruin the keytag.
KeyVault offers a Thermal Transfer label printer for KeyVault customers. The label printer can be used to label keytags, which is beneficial when a user has to check out multiple keys simultaneously. The label printer connects to the KeyVault system PC via USB connection. The labels are easily removed when a car is sold, allowing the keytag to be recycled.
KeyVault Manufacturer Representative Rick Carter said, "This has been a highly requested feature from our customers and prospects."
The labels can be printed to include stock number, year, make, model, type (new or used), color and VIN. The information on the label is pulled directly from the vehicle's record in the KeyVault database. As soon as a vehicle's data is added to the KeyVault system, the easy-to-read labels are printed and the keytag can be labeled immediately. This process saves time, reduces confusion and eliminates errors caused by handwritten labels.
"In the past, dealers bought regular stickers and paper tags, wrote the information by hand, and then put these stickers on the key rings," Carter said. "By allowing the dealers to put all the information neatly typed on a sticker, and then put that sticker on the keytag itself, it really improves the organization within the drawer and is an immediate, noticeable benefit."
